Buyer's Guide: Newberry Comics

Newberry Comics - An Industry Worth Billions of Dollars

Newberry Comics is an American comics and graphic novel retailer located in New England. Newbury Comics started out as a comics book distributor on Newbury Street in Boston, MA. The company has grown to include hundreds of comic titles in over twenty different categories. The company was started by Massachusetts Institute of Technology students John Brusger, Mike Dreese and Peter Finocchi.

The company's core product is Diamond Girl, but they also do a few other titles. There are action, adventure, children's, girl's, action, fantasy, and lots of single-issue comics. A lot of the Diamond Girl titles are tie-in products to other comics. These are popular titles that have been successful for the company.

Diamond Girl was created as a superhero when it was actually a young aspiring supermodel. She was a member of the fictional agency called the Huntress Guild. This made her the target of a hit man known as Velocity. After he killed several members of her Guild, she went into hiding and began building her own identity as the Huntress Queen. She took on different superpowers and developed various skills as she went along.

When Newberry Comics first started, they published Batman: The Dark Knight. They quickly learned that this would be a good comic book to launch another title in the line with, and they added Green Lantern: Earth's Most Last Hope, Robin: The Boy Who Stands at Justice, and other titles. Now, they have added several new titles in the company's lineup. They recently offered up Batman and Robin Eternal, Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern, and lots of other great comics.

Newberry Comics has recently been doing quite well in popularity. This is in spite of the fact that they have not had a very good history of producing high quality comic books. But it seems that over time they have gained a steady fan base. This could be attributed to the fact that many fans seem to prefer reading these type of comic books over all others.

There are several things that Newberry Comics does that really make them stand out from the rest of their competitors. For one thing, they allow their artists a lot of creative freedom. This is true even for the most iconic comic art of today. One of the latest additions to the line is the ongoing series of Batman Beyond series. This series features many guest stars from various Batman villains. These include Two-Face, Robin, Batgirl, The Riddler, Cat Woman, The Joker, and more.

Another thing that sets Newberry Comics apart from many of their competitors is the amount of material they publish. Many companies simply publish what they have drawn. Newberry has the distinction of publishing full color comics that feature not only amazing artwork but also a great story to go along with it. There is literally a ton of variety on the shelf at this company. After reading through the current titles I am sure you will agree.

As someone who has always been a big fan of comic books I was thrilled to discover that Newberry Comics has such an incredible variety. The quality of the comics is top notch and there are so many titles to choose from. You can even purchase a subscription to have unlimited access to all of their comics. If you are looking for a great read, check out Newberry Comics and their many titles. I can honestly say that this is by far my favorite comic shop. The friendly staff and the variety of products are definitely a big plus.

I have also noticed that Newberry has a ton of original graphic novel titles on their list as well. A few of these have already been reviewed on Comic Book Legal so you have an idea of the quality that they offer. I especially love all of the ones by Ed Brinnings and Steve Dillon. These guys are some of the best artists in the business and they produce some of the most beautiful comic art around today.

One title that I recently bought had to do with a very controversial topic. I'm sure you have heard about the recent situation involving a famous child star, Mickey Mouse. Recently some kid's clothes were placed on auction on eBay. A portion of the proceeds from the auction were donated to a child charity. One of the items sold was a Mickey Mouse piece of jewelry. How did this situation occur?

Well apparently one of the co-workers at Newberry Comics knew something that most people didn't. They saw the item on eBay and actually purchased it for themselves. The company then decided to fire one of their own writers for expressing support for the boycott of Disney. Hopefully this story will make a new wave of awareness among other publishers of comics.
