This is a very entertaining series of comic book trivia culled from Brian Cronin's popular weekly column "Comical Book Legends Revealed." Search it online. I don't know why all of the devoted DC and Marvel Comics fans don't read this wonderful website. It's chock full of information on everything DC and Marvel have ever done or will ever do.
Some of the highlights are: The evolution of super hero comics. Who knew Superman was this big? The emergence of characters such as Batman, Wonder Woman, The Phantom, Aquaman, Green Lantern, and The Flash. In fact, there have been more comic books introduced in recent years than in all the years preceding it! Marvel Comics have proven themselves to be the number one publisher of superhero comics, but where did it all start?
Comic book collecting is a surprisingly easy hobby to get into. Collecting can be an excellent form of social stimulation for people of all ages. My brother enjoys reading comic books, so I took him and his friends on our various comic book adventures. These days, my mother makes me read my comics, which she finds to be valuable comic book knowledge in addition to being a great way to stimulate my imagination.
One of my all-time favorite comic book stories is probably the "Deadpool vs. Wolverine" battle. I'll never forget that. It may not seem important now, but when I was a kid, I had a huge poster of this fantastic fight in my bedroom. For a kid who didn't care for fighting, this story was a real eye opener. Learning how two completely opposite characters came together to help each other was very interesting to me as a child, and has always kept me interested in comics since then.
As a kid, I remember loving Spider-Man and Batman. I had a treasured comic book collection that I would read at least once a week. The "Deadpool" series was one of my favorites. Who doesn't like the "Deadpool" name?
Of course, I got into the "Deadpool" cartoon in the 90's along with millions of others, and enjoyed every single installment of that awesome animated franchise. I'm not sure whether it's because of the awesome animation or the amazingly cool "Deadpool" comic book, but I can promise you, these two super heroes are very popular among comic book readers today. In fact, I have several collections of Batman and Spider-Man comics, and a few of my other favorite Spider-Man and Batman stories tucked away in my comics library. If I told you there were two superheroes that started off as simple comic book heroes and ended up being some of the most popular comic book creations of our time, would you care to ask me?
Of course, I wouldn't be much of a fan if I didn't tell you that my favorite two are Batman and Superman. The man of steel is known for his strength, while the alter ego of Superman is known for his indomitable courage and impossible acts of heroism. These two legends have taken on a life of their own, inspiring millions of fans around the world. I'm not the only one who loves these two separate creations; I know there are millions of others out there that do, and they love them as well.
What do you love about these two legends? Which two are your favorites? Do you like one more than the other? Does one remind you of something from your childhood? Let us know in the comments section below.
