In this super-comic, a young man moves into close proximity to his best friend's family. As the comic progresses the family tensions are brought to the fore and friendship is tested when they learn that their neighbor is an alcoholic. This comic has many layers including family, friendship, romance, addiction and how much distance someone has to give for their close relationships. It is a love story that just about every child can relate too.
Eric Bressler is the artist who does all of the artwork for this collection of comics. This is a very good collection of tales that show off color in every line. There are many different ways you can read this script. It is written as a story. The scenes are short so you don't lose out on anything. Sometimes a line is cut that makes the story flow better. The layout is designed in such a way that will keep you interested.
This is just one of the many wonderful things you will find when you read this fantastic collection. The characters are well drawn, the dialogues flow and it all makes you laugh. It is very funny. "As Close As Neighbors" is going to end up being one of your favorites from this collection of tales. It is a very good tale of friendship and the many lessons it teaches. It is going to make a great read and you will laugh many times after finishing it.
You start in the first paragraph telling the story of two young men who move into a new house together. As they become close they begin talking about their pasts. You then move to the present and they tell you how their neighbor has died. This neighbor was their real estate agent. You then follow the book and the death of the real estate agent turns out to be a great comfort to the newly blended family.
I do like the character telling the story about his deceased real estate agent past. I also liked the part where the two young men decided not to throw their friendship to the wind and just accept the fact that they were close. Then they decided to spend time with each other and start a new life together. It was a very touching moment.
There is some romance in the book but nothing too hot. I would call it light reading. It could have been trimmed a little shorter and it would have been much more enjoyable for the readers.
Overall this was an amazing book about two close friends who became very close over a matter of time. The author did a nice job of creating a realistic description of how the relationship developed. I think that the next time you read it you will understand why this book is so good. It gives a great example of what can happen when two people are close. It also has a very comforting message for those who have recently lost a loved one or someone who is currently going through a difficult time.
